This notice explains what personal information MODELINK Zambia Limited (“Modelink”, “we”, “us”) collects through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices and rights you have. It applies to this website and to the enquiries you send us through it.
Who we are
MODELINK Zambia Limited is an ICT, cybersecurity, networks and power engineering company based at Plot 3020, Mosi-O-Tunya Road, Woodlands Roundabout, Lusaka 10101, Zambia. For this website we are the data controller: we decide how and why your personal information is used. You can reach us about privacy at sales@modelink.co.zm.
Information you give us
When you use our quote request or call-back forms, we collect what you type in:
- your name, organisation, email address and phone number;
- the service you are interested in, your timeline and the details of your project or question;
- the page of the website the form was sent from.
Only the fields marked with an asterisk are required. Please do not include passwords, payment card details or other sensitive information in the message box.
If you contact us by phone, WhatsApp, email or LinkedIn instead, we receive the details you choose to share through that channel.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider’s servers record basic technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used for security and to keep the site working.
- Spam protection. To stop automated abuse of our forms, the website briefly remembers your IP address after you send a form, so it can limit how many requests are sent in a short time.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
Cookies and browser storage
The public website does not set cookies. It stores three small settings in your own browser so the site works the way you left it: whether you chose light or dark mode, whether the side menu is collapsed, and whether the opening animation has already played in this visit. These stay on your device, are not sent to us and contain no personal information. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
Our staff admin area uses a single login cookie for authorised Modelink staff only.
Content from other companies
To show our text fonts, the website loads them from Google Fonts, and the Contact page shows a map provided by Google Maps. When these load, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information, under Google’s own privacy policy. Links to WhatsApp, LinkedIn and our partners’ websites only share information with those companies if you click them; their own privacy policies then apply.
How we use your information
- to reply to your enquiry, call you back, prepare a quote or proposal and follow up on it;
- to arrange site visits and deliver the services you ask us for;
- to keep a record of enquiries so our team can see what has been discussed;
- to protect the website and our systems against spam, fraud and attacks;
- to meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for marketing unrelated to your enquiry without your agreement.
Our legal grounds
Under the Data Protection Act, 2021 of Zambia, we process your information because you asked us to respond to you (taking steps at your request before a possible contract), because of our legitimate interest in running and protecting our business and website, where required to comply with the law, and, where we ask for it, with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
Your enquiry is seen by Modelink staff who need it to help you. We also use trusted service providers who handle information on our behalf and only as we instruct:
- our website hosting provider, which stores the website and the enquiry records;
- our email provider, which delivers enquiry notifications to our sales team and confirmations to you.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, in which case this notice will continue to apply.
Information sent outside Zambia
Some of the services above, such as Google Fonts, Google Maps and email delivery, may process information on servers outside Zambia. Where that happens, we rely on providers that apply recognised security safeguards, and we handle any transfer as the Data Protection Act, 2021 requires.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as we need them to respond to you, to follow up and to support any work that results, and for any longer period required by law or to resolve disputes. After that we delete them. You can ask us to delete your enquiry sooner (see “Your rights” below).
How we protect it
The website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Enquiry records can only be seen through a password-protected admin area limited to authorised staff, with passwords stored in scrambled (hashed) form and repeated failed logins blocked. No system is completely secure, so please do not send highly sensitive information through the website.
Your rights
Subject to the Data Protection Act, 2021, you can ask us to:
- tell you whether we hold personal information about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your information, or stop or limit how we use it;
- stop using it where we rely on consent or legitimate interests;
- provide it in a form you can pass to another organisation, where this applies.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first; you also have the right to complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Zambia.
Children
This website is intended for businesses and organisations and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when our website or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
